Dear friends, family and supporters:

Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of the kind messages of encouragement that I have received since Tuesday. When I embarked on this journey more than a year ago, I knew this battle would be a tough one in this conservative district. After knocking on thousands of doors and shaking tens of thousands of hands, we managed to produce respectable results – more than 23,000 people voted for change and I believe this sounded a wake-up call that our current representation will hopefully heed.

Even though the results were not as we hoped or worked so hard for, I believe we made significant progress and forged a great alliance for Democrats in District 33. We should all take great pride in this amazing effort. Lasting friendships have been made and we know how to better campaign for the next Democrat who takes on this challenge.

I have never before seen such an amazing display of teamwork to achieve a goal. So many of you played a crucial role raising the needed funds, distributing literature and lawn signs, installing big signs, making thousands of phone calls, and so much more. Without you, this effort would have been a non-starter.

For me, the journey did not end on November 7. I will continue my work preserving land with the Crownsville Conservancy, restoring the Severn River and working with other communities on watershed restoration. I will continue to stay involved in local politics and strengthen our party in District 33. I look forward to working with all of you again in the future.

Thank you again for all of your hard work and faith in this campaign.

Sincerely,

Scott
