Dear Friends,
Things are going gangbusters in my campaign for the Maryland State Senate. I've knocked on thousands of doors and met with community and businessleaders. The overwhelming message is that the people of the 33rd district are ready for a change and for someone they can trust for effective representation. I appreciate all of the support you have given me and I hope I can count on your continued help in the coming months.
Even though I am the only Democrat running for our district, my opponent Republican Janet Greenip might have a primary challenger. This is great news for us and we look forward to seeing how things unfold. In the meantime we will continue to talk with the people of the 33rd district and get our message out.
A few weeks ago I received the endorsement from the Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County and I was named a Blue Crab Candidate by Prof. Howard Ernst and the Blue Crab Project. (See article below) This week also I received a Blue Heron Award from the Severn River Association for my numerous efforts in preserving the Severn River Watershed.
Tuesday we celebrated America's independence and I hope you were able to join us at the Severna Park Parade where we had a float with Dan Haas' band Ben's Bones performing. Dan is a Severna Park native and one of the areas top talents. (http://www.danhaas.com).
I hope you had a Happy Independence Day,
Scott
